The catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza demands immediate and decisive action from Congress. Nearly a third of Gaza's population has not eaten for days, while 90,000 women and children urgently need treatment for malnutrition according to the World Food Programme. The head of the WHO has described it as "man-made mass starvation" - a crime against humanity unfolding in real time.
Israel's withholding of essential aid and disproportionate military escalation are depriving millions of Palestinian civilians of their most basic human rights and dignity. Children are starving, families lack access to food, water and medicine as this unconscionable situation deteriorates daily. As a nation upholding democratic values, the United States has a moral obligation to forcefully condemn these atrocities and take concrete steps to protect innocent Palestinian lives.
