OPPOSE the “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” Act.
Instead of recognizing and confronting the past so we can learn from it, honor the sacrifices, understand the impacts, and heal as a country united, this legislation works to erase U.S. history it doesn’t like — claiming falsely that the Smithsonian features divisive, race-centered ideology.
The Smithsonian’s work is shaped by the best scholarship, free of partisanship, to help the American public better understand the nation’s history, challenges, and triumphs.
The 21 museums, 14 education and research centers, and the National Zoo have each been, and must continue to be, vital to the well-being of everyone — regardless of political beliefs, socioeconomic status, gender, or race.
Vote AGAINST the “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” Act.
