Stop Military Strikes Against Iran

To: Sen. Murray, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, Sen. Cantwell

From: A verified voter in Camas, WA

March 12

I'm asking you to oppose further military action against Iran and work to de-escalate this conflict immediately. The recent US Central Command strikes on Iranian planes, boats, and trucks, along with the destruction of 16 Iranian minelayers near the Strait of Hormuz, are pushing us toward a wider war that serves no American interest. This escalation threatens global oil supplies and could drag us into another decades-long Middle East conflict. Iran's Supreme Leader has already stated that closure of the Strait of Hormuz should be used as leverage, which would devastate the world economy. We've seen this pattern before: military strikes lead to retaliation, which leads to more strikes, until we're fully committed to a war nobody wanted. The American people did not vote for another war in the Middle East. We need diplomatic solutions, not bombing campaigns. Use your position to demand that the administration pursue negotiations instead of military action. Every strike makes peace harder to achieve and puts American service members at risk for a conflict that could be resolved at the negotiating table.
