WHAT WAS THAT THING WE WATCHED?
To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Pfluger

August 9
Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. Your presidential candidate has lost it. I mean, literally. Watching his Mar-a-Lago presser yesterday was jaw-dropping. And not because of the usual torrent of nonsense (well that too), but because of the way he physically looked. His eyes in particular. He looked mad, as in King George mad He has apparently lost contact with reality. He professed to have always been supportive of Hillary Clinton during their campaign. His primary reference to a question about January 6 was that his crowd size was bigger than Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington (it wasn’t even close). He also swore that no one died on January 6 (four of his own supporters died from the events, including Ashli Babbitt, whom Trump and his allies attempted to morph into a MAGA martyr). He insisted that Democrats want to gut Social Security (they don’t, but Republicans are trying to). He suggested openness to outlawing mifepristone (backtracking on his original stance). He blithely stated his belief that abortion won’t be a big issue in voters’ minds come November. Because he took care of any discontent on the matter (this is delusion pure and simple). And more… “I know Willie Brown very well,” Trump said. “In fact, I went down in a helicopter with him. We thought maybe this is the end. We were in a helicopter going to a certain location together and there was an emergency landing.” Not true. At all. No wonder the best he can do is insults and name calling and call it campaigning. When a person who has lied all their lives, this is the outcome when mental issues come up. A pathological liar can perhaps keep it together when they’re young. It’s not as difficult to remember previous lies. But the older and/or impaired mind can’t do that. So not only is the original lie forgotten, they don’t even realize they’re lying anymore. Basically reality becomes whatever comes out of their mouths. Their reality. Not ours. As Mr. Trump just proved. No wonder he’s being kept off the campaign trail. Good luck keeping him away from any open mic though. What a pitiful spectacle. A spectacle that might be the next American president.
