Rep. Tony Gonzales of Texas should resign or be expelled from the House of Representatives immediately. He violated a rule prohibiting relationships between members of Congress and their staff. The fact that he faces a difficult primary (good) or that the GOP has a very slim margin in the House should not excuse him from complying with the rules.
This from the party that likes to say it stands for law and order and family values. Rank hypocrisy!!
What makes it worse is that the staffer killed herself, probably as a result of the relationship. Even some Republicans are calling for his resignation.
Make enough noise and “good trouble“ to force him out. What happens if he wins his primary and defeats the Democratic candidate? Are they just going to ignore it or “kick the can down the road”?
The time for action is now!
