Senators I am urging you to vote no to a very dangerous piece of legislation. The SAVE Act is a threat to democracy and the equal rights that have been fought for by women in this country for decades. The SAVE Act makes it so that women who have changed their name, most often due to marriage, are unable to vote without having a passport. This is unconstitutional because it then places a barrier on American voters who may not be able to afford a passport. Financial status should never be a barrier to exercising one’s right to vote. Vote no to the SAVE Act. Protect your voters. The women of America are speaking out and want to keep our constitutional rights to vote. Don’t let us down.
