Investigate executive overreach, safeguard democratic checks and balances.
To: Sen. Husted, Rep. Sykes, Sen. Moreno
From: A constituent in Coventry Township, OH
February 5
I am deeply concerned about reports that Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have gained access to sensitive government data and payment systems, including those of the Treasury Department. This appears to be an egregious overreach of executive authority, bypassing congressional oversight and accountability measures. Musk, who holds no elected or Senate-confirmed position, should not have unilateral power to restructure federal agencies, slash budgets, or redirect funds allocated by Congress. His involvement raises serious ethical conflicts given his leadership roles in private corporations. Furthermore, granting DOGE employees without proper security clearances access to secure systems is a glaring breach of protocol. I urge you to take immediate action to investigate these troubling developments and ensure that the constitutional separation of powers is upheld. Unchecked executive overreach jeopardizes our democratic system of checks and balances. Measures must be taken to safeguard the integrity of government operations and protect the public interest from being usurped by private agendas. The American people deserve transparency and adherence to established processes.
