Investigate Trump's $900M White House Spending End-Run Around Congress Demand a full investigation and halt to the Trump administration's $900 million White House renovation scheme. This is not routine maintenance. This is a president funneling taxpayer money through a back-channel account called "White House Repair and Restoration" to bankroll personal vanity projects, bypassing Congress and the appropriations process entirely. Trump promised Americans that his $600 million ballroom would be paid for almost entirely by private donations. That was a lie. Taxpayers are on the hook for roughly half of it. On top of that, $70 million directed to this account has no identified source at all. Meanwhile, $500 million was quietly pulled from the Secret Service and the White House Military Office. A federal court already ruled the ballroom illegal, and he's appealing. This is not how a democracy spends public money. Every previous administration submitted renovation requests to Congress. Trump just took the money. While families are getting squeezed, he is spending nearly a billion dollars redecorating. That is not acceptable. Use your oversight authority to freeze these funds, demand full disclosure of every dollar, and hold this administration accountable.
