The Federal Communications Commission's investigation into possible violations of rules governing sponsorship announcements by NPR and PBS member stations threatens the public's access to trusted, noncommercial news sources. As citizens reliant on NPR for objective reporting and educational programming, we urge reconsideration of this probe, which appears politically motivated. NPR and PBS provide an invaluable public service by delivering high-quality journalism and educational content free from commercial interests. Undermining their funding based on a murky legal rationale would deprive communities of vital information resources. We request this inquiry be halted to protect the public's right to independent media.
