YOU WILL NOT BE RE-ELECTED IF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE YOUR CONSTITUENTS
To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
August 14
Consider this your weekly reminder: if you continue refusing to stand up for and defend your own constituents, you are going to have a very difficult time earning their votes again.
Your constituents are watching while Pete Hegseth and this administration continue policies that are damaging our military and traumatizing federal employees. This administration’s continued attacks on the people who serve this country, the institutions they work for, and the rights they are supposed to have protected should concern every member of Congress.
Instead, far too many Republicans appear willing to stand by while this administration attacks American workers and undermines the very people who keep our government functioning. It increasingly looks like protecting political power and personal interests matters more to the GOP than protecting the American people.
Let me be very clear: the midterm elections are going to be a reckoning. If Republicans continue down this path, they should not assume their seats are safe. People are paying attention, and they are not going to forget who stood up for them and who didn’t.
At the very least, you can take meaningful action now by supporting and helping advance H.R. 2550, the Protect America’s Workforce Act. This legislation would demonstrate that you actually recognize the importance of protecting federal employees and their collective bargaining rights.
I honestly don’t believe you have demonstrated that you care about your constituents. But if you do care, this is your opportunity to prove it.
You have a choice. You can continue standing with an administration that is hurting American workers and allowing federal employees to be treated as disposable, or you can finally stand up for the people you were elected to represent.
I’m telling you now: the political consequences of continuing to ignore your constituents will be felt at the ballot box.
The choice is yours.
