What kind of fascist tripe is this administration playing with now? Apparently this administration's fiscal year 2027 budget request, submitted in April 2026, includes proposed funding for the FBI to "proactively" target what it describes as "gender extremism." Per NSPM-7, this means that members of the LGBTQ+ community can now be considered a domestic terrorist threat, and MY tax dollars might be used by the FBI to monitor, investigate, and target LGBTQ+ people and organizations as potential terrorist threats. Has anyone in this administration ever MET a member of the LGBTQ+ community? Because I have (several, in fact) who I consider good friends, and this is nothing more than a modern day witch hunt. My gay friends, trans friends, lesbian friends, queer friends, nonbinary friends, bi friends, all they want is to be allowed to live their lives freely, without any government threat or interference, just as we all hope for. Instead their lives and livelihoods are constantly under attack, when the real threats to our country and society are the people leading these baseless claims. Remember the Pulse nightclub attacks? The members of the LBGTQ+ community are not the terrorists; they are the victims of terrorism perpetuated by ideologies such as this administration's extremist positions on gender ideology. The FBI needs to concentrate on actual, real terrorist threats rather than these imaginary threats that conservative extremists keep making up.
