It’s time to review Maines tax brackets. In what world does it make sense for the highest tax bracket to start at $63,450??? I’m no financial wizard but there seems like at least two more brackets make sense: one for “rich” people - say $150,000 , and another for the super rich. It seems wholly unjust to ask families making $65,000/year to pay the same percentage of their income (which takes a significantly bite out of a budget!) as those making six digits. More brackets would make taxes more equitable and raise a lot of much needed funds for our state. Please share your thoughts.
