They’re heading for the bunker folks. Circling the wagons around the most unpopular president in history. Finally a brag that is true. Trump’s tribe is collapsing to a close personal few. And reporting is showing the character of the Trump administration in times of pressure. Reporting that revealed journalists and WH staffers were used as decoys during a Secret Service operation to protect the president from a credible, or maybe not, Iranian threat to take down Air Force One. As one headline put it : “To Save Himself, Trump Endangered Others.” Trump’s choice of who left the decoy plane said it all. He opted to protect his loyal aides rather than any cabinet officials of his own government. Trump left Secretary of State Marco Rubio behind on the decoy plane. But took WH deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, his assistant Natalie Harp, and director of Oval operations Walt Nauta. He took the folks who worked for him at Mar-a-Lago. Loyalists who stuck with him between presidencies. Nauta, indicted on six felony counts, including conspiracy, after helping Trump hide classified documents at Mar-a-Largo, got a seat to safety. Marco Rubio, you’re on your own. But no worries. The prez has bigger fish to fry. Like coming up with at least $927M of taxpayer money to continue gilding DC. They’re busy robbing Peter to pay Paul, bypassing Congress, channeling money from other agencies and private donors and sending it to an account typically used for routine maintenance. More than $323M has been funneled from the National Park Service to Trump’s vanity projects on WH grounds. Even as his own Interior Secretary estimates a $30B, that’s BILLION, backlog of deferred maintenance in our federal parks. That number is a nearly 5,000% (not a typo) increase over the $7.5M spent at the WH in 2024, Biden’s last year. And another $100M has been allotted to the National Mall this year. The $423M allocated this year for projects at the WH and the National Mall is more money than had been allotted to Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Mammoth Cave, Zion, and Joshua Tree National Parks, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and the Statue of Liberty complex combined. P.S. meanwhile aren’t we running out of bombs to continue his Middle East adventure…while he decorates? It’s all too ridiculous. And vile. Or to sum up…”The man who cowered hiding from the Iranians in a catering truck and who has personally done more to increase Iran’s strategic influence than anyone in its own government ever has, is now blathering nonsense via social media.
