I am writing to support funding for Public radio and Public television, and to oppose both any claw back of funds already appropriated, and also any attempt to defund NPR and PBS.
Last night my family and I watched the program "A Capital Fourth" on our local public television station, Kentucky Educational Television (KET). It was a gloriously patriotic celebration of the values that draw us all together as Americans. As elderly Americans, my wife is bedbound, we rely on PBS and NPR to provide us a window on the world, to entertain us, and give us the news of the day, every day.
Public Television and Public Radio is our most important issue. We have listened and watched for almost fifty years, and to lose them would be devastating to us, to our family, and our community.
Please do what you can to oppose any attempt to reduce funding for these, in our view, vital and essential services.
