Do Not Support HB 1425. There has been legislation introduced in the PA House of Representatives, which has gained many co-sponsors that would ban every single Vape Product (Disposable or Bottled Juice) from being legally sold in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania House Bill or HB 1425 would ban every single Vape Product (Disposable or Bottled Juice) from being legally sold in Pennsylvania. This bill would AMEND current law and make it illegal and fineable up to $500 per retail unit of non-FDA Approved Vape Product found in your favorite vape shop. This Registry Bill has been pushed and passed in many other States already. The issue at hand is that manufacturers combined had submitted over 6.5 MILLION Products for FDA approval. Effectively, all products have been denied by the FDA, who approved only 20 products to date of the original 6.5 million submitted. The Products that have been FDA Approved are all Big Tobacco Owned Companies. Many other bills, just like HB1425, that have passed in other States to date, have been promoted heavily in those States by Altria. Altria, if you’re not familiar, owns Philip Morris USA, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, John Middleton, Helix Innovations and NJOY. These FDA Approved Registries are not about protecting public health but rather create the framework for the Tobacco Companies (who have Killed Many Millions of people over many years), a Monopoly on the Vaping Industry. The products in the 6.5 million FDA submissions that were denied are all small company owned and not associated with Tobacco or Cigarettes. These are companies that started up to fight back against Big Tobacco and offer a safer alternative to Smoking. In addition, consider the economic impact for PA. There are approximately 17000 PA OTP licenses, which represent thousands of mostly mom-and-pop businesses, their employees, and all those families. I don’t know the amount of tax revenue PA collects from the 40% OTP tax, but you should, and I bet it’s significant. Every vape shop would become an empty storefront almost immediately upon passage of an act like this, and revenue from OTP, sales tax, wage taxes, etc. just dries right up.
