Do not fund DHS without meaningful reforms to ICE. I understand that the DHS shutdown is increasingly interfering with people's lives, but Congress cannot give another penny to ICE until reforms are made. There is still no accountability for federal agents who are terrorizing citizens, legal residents, and undocumented people in this country. The apparent standard operating procedure for ICE is treating people in ways that no one should be treated, regardless of immigration status. It is critical that reforms are enacted that provide actual oversight and accountability.
