I'm outraged by the way senator Alex Padilla was treated in California yesterday. This isn't just about disrespecting one senator. This is about silencing an elected representative, undermining freedom speech, and violating the rights of millions of Americans. I am asking you to speak up publicly and forcefully against what happened. Demand an immediate investigation and appropriate charges against those responsible. Defend the rights of every American to be represented and heard. Protect the integrity of our democratic institutions and uphold the freedom of speech that is central to our democracy. Silence is complicity. I expect you to act immediately.
