Reject discriminatory legislation infringing on medical rights

To: Rep. Pierson, Sen. Hall, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Gov. Abbott

From: A constituent in Rockwall, TX

May 14

As your constituent, I urge you to vote no on HB 3399. Attempting to legislate restrictions on gender-affirming care represents an unwarranted overreach into private medical decisions that should remain between patients and their doctors. Such measures discriminate against transgender individuals and deny them access to essential, potentially life-saving treatment supported by major medical associations. This bill disregards medical consensus and violates fundamental rights by inserting the government into highly personal healthcare choices. I urge you to reject this discriminatory legislation that compromises the wellbeing of vulnerable community members. Healthcare policies must be grounded in science and human rights, not driven by ideology or political agendas that marginalize already disadvantaged groups. Protecting equal access to ethical, evidence-based medical care for all Texans should be the priority.
