The Equal Rights Amendment is vital for ensuring true equality under the law regardless of sex. Its ratification was completed in 2020, yet it remains unpublished and unrecognized in the Constitution. We urge the President to instruct the Archivist of the United States to certify and publish the ERA without delay. Protecting equal rights is not just a matter of principle, but has profound practical implications for preventing rollbacks of rights and empowering the judiciary to uphold sex equality. With the recent election results threatening progress on gender equality, publishing the ERA is an urgent imperative. The time to enshrine equal rights in our founding document is long overdue. We call on the President to take this crucial step before leaving office.
