Please support legislation to block the Trump regime from committing US forces to an illegal war in Venezuela. There is absolutely no basis for this belligerent action despite what we may think of Venezuelan dictator Maduro. I think it’s pretty clear that Trump is interested in seizing Venezuela’s oil, as illustrated by his recent seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker. His highest ambition seems to be to become an oil sheik. Only YOU, Congress, can declare war. This is a solemn responsibility and one that should not be ceded to the executive branch. Trump seems unhinged and unstable. Even if he was a responsible person, the decision to go to war lies with Congress, the representative of the people.
