More destruction of our nations Capital is unacceptable!! Eric Flack of WUSA9 reported that the National Park Service told a federal judge it is closing not just the East Potomac Golf Course, but also nearly all of Hains Point beginning on November 15. As Flack notes, this area includes “the perimeter running loop, the dedicated bike and pedestrian lane the Park Service completed in 2023, and the picnic areas and open space used year-round.” The Park Service did not say how long the closure would last. Rachel Treisman of NPR reports that plans for the finished park show only a golf course. The current facilities for walkers, runners, cyclists, birders, picnickers, and so on, are not shown. Why are you letting the his man destroy our public spaces?????????
