I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to publicly support a serious and transparent review of whether the provisions of the 25th Amendment should be considered regarding President Donald Trump. The 25th Amendment exists for a reason: to protect the stability of our government when there are legitimate concerns about a president’s ability to faithfully and effectively carry out the duties of the office. When questions arise about judgment, conduct, decision-making, or fitness for office, elected officials have a responsibility to put the interests of the nation above party loyalty. This is not a matter of partisan politics. It is a matter of constitutional accountability. The American people deserve leaders who are willing to evaluate evidence honestly and act when circumstances warrant it. Refusing to even discuss the possibility of a review undermines confidence in our institutions and suggests that political considerations outweigh constitutional obligations. I am asking you to: Publicly acknowledge concerns regarding the President’s fitness for office. Support an objective and fact-based evaluation under the framework provided by the 25th Amendment. Place the Constitution and the interests of the American people above partisan considerations. Whether one ultimately agrees or disagrees with invoking the 25th Amendment, the issue deserves serious consideration and honest discussion. Silence is not leadership. I would appreciate a response explaining your position on this matter and what actions, if any, you are willing to take.
