As any athlete knows, there is a moment when the game passes you by. The moment when you can’t catch up to the fastball anymore. The moment you can’t chase down that young winger. The moment when your body won’t do what your mind knows it should. This is that moment for the Democratic leadership in Congress. It is time for this team to step aside. They have given a late chunk of their lives to public service, but in this moment we need someone who is willing and able to fight. We need someone that doesn’t shrink from a challenge. We need someone at the top of their game. Schumer and Durbin haven’t been at the top of their game for a long time. I’m starting to doubt they ever had a top game. But we need a new direction in this fight, and we need it now. Call for Chuck and Dick to step down. We need to meet this moment.
