Release the Epstein Files and be better

To: Sen. Schmitt

From: A constituent in Kansas City, MO

September 11, 2025

I am writing to express my deep disapproval in your recent representation of the state of Missouri. First, you voted against releasing the Epstein files which does nothing but protect those who should face justice for truly egregious crimes. Senator Hawley did the right thing in voting to release the files to the public and I urge you to reconsider and join him in seeking justice by releasing the Epstein files. Regardless of party affiliation, releasing the Epstein files is an incredibly popular move and is highly sought after by the American people so I urge you to represent our will properly. Secondly, your recent speech about “what is America” was shameful and brought embarrassing attention to the state of Missouri. White supremacy has no place in America, as we are a nation of immigrants (yourself included, as your German ancestors were in fact immigrants) and having white skin does not make us any better than other immigrants. Your retelling of history demonstrates either a strong misunderstanding or willful misrepresentation of our nation’s history and I would encourage you to educate yourself on American history from a reputable (non-alt right) source. If you need any suggestions of sources, I am happy to help. It is good to be proud of your heritage, but what you demonstrated in that speech was something nefarious and entirely different. In closing, do better. Release the Epstein files, stop supporting white supremacy and remember that American does not have an official religion. Also, please be brave and hold a town hall in Kansas City.
