Will You Uphold the Constitution?

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Luttrell

From: A constituent in Cypress, TX

April 15

The Trump administration's deportation of Kilmar Ábrego García to El Salvador was a grave error. As a legal permanent resident with court-ordered protection from removal, his deportation violates due process and the rule of law. The Supreme Court has rightfully ruled that the government must facilitate his return from the inhumane conditions of El Salvador's prisons. Upholding the Constitution and its guarantees of due process should be of paramount importance. Failure to comply with the Court's order undermines judicial authority and sets a dangerous precedent of executive overreach. Mr. Ábrego García's continued unlawful detention abroad further jeopardizes his wellbeing and erodes respect for human rights. I urge you to take immediate action to enforce the Supreme Court's order and secure Mr. Ábrego García's safe return to his family in the United States. Restoring the integrity of our nation's legal system and protecting the rights of all people should be priorities for our government. Please demonstrate leadership in this matter by ensuring the Court's authority is upheld without further delay.
