The nomination of Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence raises significant national security concerns. Gabbard has publicly aligned herself with the authoritarian regimes of Vladimir Putin in Russia and Bashar al-Assad in Syria. She has trafficked in conspiracy theories promoted by Russian disinformation efforts, such as the false claim that the U.S. operates biological weapons labs in Ukraine. Her long history of echoing Kremlin talking points and her cozy relationship with adversarial nations call into question her ability to objectively lead America's intelligence community and safeguard sensitive information. Putting someone with such questionable loyalties in charge of our country's intelligence apparatus would be an unacceptable risk. I urge you to reject her nomination to protect the integrity of our national security infrastructure.
