Reject Monsanto's Immunity Claim in Monsanto v. Durnell

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen, Rep. Elfreth

From: A verified voter in Arnold, MD

April 27

I need you to oppose Monsanto's attempt to secure corporate immunity in Monsanto v. Durnell when the Supreme Court considers this case in April 2026. No company should be shielded from accountability for harm they caused, especially when they know their product is poisonous. Monsanto faces thousands of lawsuits alleging that Roundup causes cancer. Now they want federal pesticide approvals to override state laws that let people sue companies for failing to warn about known risks. If the Court rules in their favor, it would strip farmers and all Americans of the right to seek justice when harmed by corporate products. This isn't about whether farmers can use glyphosate. Farmers have alternatives, including accessing glyphosate from other manufacturers, using other pesticides, or controlling weeds without pesticides. This is about whether farmers are protected from harm if they use Monsanto's product, or whether they'll be treated as guinea pigs with no recourse. A ruling for Monsanto sets a dangerous precedent allowing companies across all industries to escape liability. Stand with farmers and farmworkers, not corporate interests. Reject any effort to grant Monsanto immunity from accountability.
