At the bidding of this Republican administration, ICE ‘officers’ in Minnesota are now attacking peaceful protestors in public. That is not immigration enforcement. It is terrorizing communities. Peaceful protests are an enshrined in the Constitution’s First Amendment and are central to our identity as Americans. Yet poorly-trained, armed, masked ICE ‘officers’ are now violating that amendment multiple times a day without consequence. ICE has become an organization of lawless thugs accountable to no one. You swore an oath to defend the Constitution, as did your congressional colleagues. Why are you not doing so in response to this blatant ICE overreach? ICE must be required to obey the Constitution if we are to survive as a republic. My wife and I urge you to demand accountability for all ICE ‘officers’ and contractors and insist they adhere to the Constitution all our laws are based on.
