Prioritize diplomacy, ceasefire for lasting peace in Gaza

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deeply concerning, with the loss of innocent civilian lives and the displacement of tens of thousands due to the ongoing conflict. The United States must leverage its influence to push for an immediate cease-fire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas. Continuing to provide military aid to Israel while it conducts airstrikes that kill civilians undermines efforts for a lasting peace. The proposal being worked on with Egypt and Qatar must prioritize ending the violence, allowing unrestricted humanitarian access, and ultimately paving the way for a political solution that addresses the root causes of this cycle of violence. Prolonging the military campaigns will only breed more resentment and extremism. Utilizing strategic pressure and diplomacy is crucial to break this destructive pattern and give hope for a just resolution.
