I am writing to implore you not to support Chuck Schumer for leader of the new Democratic Senate. This moment requires strong leadership that is committed to restoring and enforcing the rule of law. The flagrantly illegal activities of BOTH Trump administrations MUST be investigated and prosecuted. Incompetent and malicious directors of administrative departments MUST be impeached. The president MUST be impeached for his many, MANY crimes against this nation and its people. Democrats MUST stand firm against any and all attempts by the Republican party to further the Trump administration's goals, not just "go along to get along". Chuck Schumer has proven over the last decade that he is not up to the challenge that this moment presents, and is not willing to take the necessary steps to pull us back from the brink. Our democracy is hanging by a thread. If this administration continues to go unpunished, it sets a lethal precedent for this country that says you can just do crimes and get away with them. And the Republican party will continue to do so until they are stopped. Do not elect Chuck Schumer as the leader of the Democratic Senate. Our nation cannot withstand the depth of his ineptitude.
