I am horrified to read today about AI researchers at Anthropic warning that AI is posing a risk to human extinction. Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic have all said they would pause or halt AI development once their technology got ahead of their ability to control it. None have followed through! We must: - Ban artificial superintelligence outright - Pause advanced AI development - Create a Cabinet-level agency to police AI risk, backed by an independent board of technical experts. - Set harsh penalties for companies that violate the ban - Push for a worldwide ban to keep superintelligence from being built anywhere I urge you to CO-SPONSOR Senator Sanders’ Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act. We must stop AI oligarchs from building machines humans cannot control. Thank you.
