This proposed legislation is an unnecessary distraction from the actual needs of our schools and students. There is no credible evidence of the behaviors described occurring in Texas classrooms. Rather than wasting time and resources on fictitious issues, our focus should be on providing adequate funding, supporting educators, and ensuring all students have access to a quality education. Misguided bills like this only serve to stigmatize certain groups and manufacture moral panics. We should reject this attempt at sowing division and concentrate our efforts on practical measures that tangibly improve educational outcomes for all Texas children.
