The Charlie Kirk Free Speech day is ridiculous. Our entire history and the basis of our country are freedoms of religion, speech, assembly etc. Independence day encompasses them all. Veterans Day is honoring everyone who fought and died for our right of free speech, among others. Charlie Kirk is NOWHERE NEAR the only or first person killed who was outspoken in their beliefs. Why isn’t it just free speech day or constitution day??? Thousands are getting killed every single day and you have the power to speak against that, and put a stop to it, but do not. Millions have died since 1776 to protect free speech. This year there have been hundreds of social activists that have been killed. If you want a redundant holiday to celebrate the same rights as our other national holidays that we have had for thousands of years, just make it focus on the speech and independence. Attaching Charlie Kirk to the day makes it a joke and only belittles our free speech. His sole platform was supporting gun violence and public execution. What happened was not right, but he literally got exactly what he was arguing in support of. He got what he asked for in an exact and literal way. You cannot believe something until it happens to you, or that was never your belief in the first place. The ONLY threat to free speech is the felon president who has often called those with different opinions “terrorists” or insulted them as a toddler would. He uses the National Guard and ICE as his own mercenaries to take out dissenters and protesters. The vast majority of those who have been taken to detention camps have been American citizens with differing beliefs. Free speech is obviously important. That is why we already have dozens of holidays connected to it and it is the bedrock of our entire culture. Charlie Kirk was ONE IN BILLIONS who have lost their life in pursuit of their beliefs. The only person this message must reach is the president and he could not care less about holidays. Take real action. Impeach him. Investigate him. Actually show you care about a single Kansan who has died in pursuit of their ideals. The convicted felon in the White House is THE ONLY THREAT TO FREE SPEECH. This is barely a whisper, if you actually give a damn about our freedoms MAKE HIM LISTEN. So far you’re only showing that you’re in his pocket and are just as complacent to the real victims being tortured, murdered, and marginalized every single day. I bet all of my money that this will be all of your last terms. You are failing your people. This term is the last chance you have to right these wrongs.
