November 14
Dear Official, I hope this campaign finds you well. I am writing to you as a Fresh Start Advocate on behalf of our youth organization dedicated to supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into society. We are advocating for the Reentry Program Certification Act and would greatly appreciate your support. Title: Reentry Program Certification Act Section 1. This Act may be cited as the “Reentry Program Certification Act.” Section 2. Purpose The purpose of this Act is to establish a certification process for individuals who have successfully completed reentry programs. This certification, known as the “seal of completion,” will serve as a formal credential to demonstrate their qualifications and readiness for employment, helping them overcome the barriers posed by their past criminal background. Section 3. Definitions - Reentry Program: A comprehensive program designed to assist individuals transitioning from incarceration to society, including skill development, behavioral training, and adherence to ethical standards. - Seal of Completion: A formal credential issued to individuals who have completed a reentry program, signed by a panel of judges, that serves as a license indicating their rehabilitation and readiness for employment. - Judges Panel: A panel of judges designated to oversee the reentry program, responsible for reviewing and endorsing the Seal of Completion for individuals who have completed the program. Section 4. Certification Process 1. Completion of Reentry Program: - Individuals must successfully complete a comprehensive reentry program that includes skill development, behavioral training, and ethical standards. - The reentry program must be approved by the relevant governmental or judicial authority. 2. Review by Judges Panel: - Upon successful completion of the reentry program, the individual’s progress and achievements will be reviewed by a Judges Panel. - The Judges Panel will consist of judges or appointed representatives who oversee the reentry program. - The panel will assess whether the individual meets the required criteria for the Seal of Completion. 3. Issuance of Seal of Completion: - If the individual meets the criteria, the Judges Panel will issue the Seal of Completion, signed by the judges. We believe that the Reentry Program Certification Act will provide a critical pathway for individuals to reintegrate into society successfully and contribute positively to their communities. Your support for this Act would be invaluable in helping us achieve this goal. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Fresh Start Advocate
