Last year, Congress overwhelmingly passed a bill requiring TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell the social media platform. The bipartisan agreement of the very real security threat was overwhelming. The Trump Administration simply refuses to implement the law, despite increasing evidence of the security risk posed by TikTok’s algorithm and the enormous amount of information it gathers about its users. Despite the President’s enjoyment of his large TikTok following, ownership of TikTok by a Chinese company remains a security risk. Do your job: enforce the laws (this one was both passed by Congress and affirmed, in a unanimous ruling by the Supreme Court).
