I am writing to urge you to prioritize increased funding for two programs that help protect immigrants against deportation: (1) $15M for the Immigrant Legal Defense Fund (Line Item 4003-0124) (2) $2M for the Citizenship for New Americans Program (Line item 4003-0122) Access to existing legal protections against deportation should not depend on income. I respectfully urge you to include these funding requests in your FY27 budget priorities.
