Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, has proposed a rule to ban transgender individuals from using the bathroom according to their gender in the US Capitol. She does this just as the first transgender Representative is named to the House. As a member of the House Steering and Policy Committee, you have an exceptional platform to prevent this attack on a fellow Democratic lawmaker, and I urge you to do so. This attack by Representative Mace is nothing but pandering to her audience, unbacked by science or incident, that damages the dignity of a fellow Congresswoman. Stand firm against this attack, and stand for your fellow Democratic Congressperson.
