Make telehealth permanent :Telehealth Modernization Act of 2024.

To: Sen. Vance, Rep. Joyce, Sen. Brown

From: A verified voter in Newbury, OH

December 4

The Telehealth Modernization Act of 2024 seeks to expand and make permanent certain telehealth flexibilities under the Medicare program. This bill would allow Medicare beneficiaries to continue accessing telehealth services from any location, even after the COVID-19 public health emergency ends. It would also expand the types of practitioners eligible to provide telehealth services and require Medicare to cover audio-only telehealth visits. Additionally, the bill would enable federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics to be reimbursed for telehealth services as clinic visits after 2024. Given the increasing demand and utility of telehealth, continuing these flexibilities would improve healthcare access for Medicare beneficiaries, particularly those in rural or underserved areas. Therefore, I request your support for this legislation to modernize and strengthen telehealth coverage under Medicare.
