I am writing to express not just disappointment, but outrage. Your ongoing participation in the corruption of our government and the degradation of democratic norms is nothing short of disgraceful. You were elected to serve the public. Instead, you have chosen to serve money, power, and the wealthy interests that keep you in office.
Let’s be honest: the destruction of oversight, the gutting of accountability, and the blatant dishonesty coming from Congress are not accidents. They are choices. Your choices. And they are harming this country.
You have stood by, or in some cases, proudly stood with, those who undermine the rule of law and treat our institutions like disposable props. You defend lawlessness when it benefits your political allies. You dismiss facts when they threaten your grip on power. And you lie, openly and repeatedly, about your motives, as though your constituents are too naive, too distracted, or too stupid to notice.
We do notice. And we are done pretending not to.
Your loyalty to wealthy donors and corporate interests is clearer than your loyalty to the people who sent you to Washington. You were not elected to enrich yourself, protect your party at all costs, or enable authoritarian behavior. You were elected to uphold the Constitution, strengthen oversight, and protect the rights and safety of the American public. You have failed catastrophically on all counts.
I am demanding that you stop treating public office as your personal ladder to influence and instead confront the damage you are helping inflict. Reinstate accountability. Restore oversight. Tell the truth, even when it threatens your political convenience. And start representing the people of this district instead of the corporations and billionaires (including Russians) who bankroll your campaigns.
History will remember the cowards and opportunists just as clearly as it remembers the heroes. Right now, your record places you firmly in the former category.
Do better, for once.
