The Trump family's use of cryptocurrency for corrupt purposes is deeply concerning. Through their own cryptocurrencies, they are essentially soliciting bribes from corporations, foreign governments, and wealthy individuals in exchange for access and influence. This pay-to-play scheme undermines democratic principles and the integrity of our political system. The proposed GENIUS Act, which claims to regulate stablecoins, fails to address these glaring issues and would enable further illicit uses of cryptocurrency by the Trump family and others. Rather than reining in corruption, it opens the door to fraud and jeopardizes financial stability. As your constituent, I urge you to oppose the GENIUS Act in its current form. Any legislation on cryptocurrency must prioritize transparency, accountability, and safeguards against corruption and exploitation. Turning a blind eye to the Trump family's crypto corruption is unacceptable. Our democracy and the public interest must take precedence over narrow financial interests.
