I urge you to support SB 368 regarding campaign finance, but would very much like it to apply to local elections as well. As a resident of the Town of Vienna, I am of course thinking of our Town Council elections. Vienna has fewer than 25,000 residents so our candidates are not subject to the Virginia campaign finance requirements. I think they should be. If this bill passes with a proviso that it can apply to local elections that are governed by the CFDA, whether by statute or voluntarily, that would in my mind be a big big plus.
