Transgender workers face real barriers to employment and safety on the job. They're denied access to appropriate facilities, forced to use names that don't match their identity, and subjected to dress codes that single them out. These aren't abstract concerns. They're daily humiliations that push qualified people out of jobs they need and deserve. Colorado's bill offers a clear model. It requires employers to use chosen names and pronouns, update records accordingly, and allow access to facilities that match gender identity. For public employers, it adds transition planning support and annual training. The enforcement mechanism is straightforward: the Department of Labor investigates complaints and can fine violators up to $5,000 per incident. This isn't about special treatment. It's about ensuring transgender people can work without being forced to hide who they are. Every worker deserves that basic dignity. I want to see you champion similar protections here so transgender employees can earn a living without sacrificing their identity.
