I am writing to you today as a deeply concerned constituent and a human being with a conscience. The existence and operation of facilities such as “Alligator Alcatraz” is a national disgrace that demands immediate investigation and dismantling. No democratic society should tolerate camps where detainees, often held without due process, are subjected to dehumanizing treatment and conditions that call to mind the darkest chapters in human history. The treatment of individuals in such places mirrors tactics of brutality and mass degradation used in camps like Auschwitz. While the historical contexts are different, the core issue remains the same: the systematic stripping of dignity, the denial of rights, and the use of state power to terrorize rather than protect. The United States government should not be running or funding facilities that engage in cruelty or operate outside the bounds of constitutional and international law. No person should be caged indefinitely, especially not in remote, militarized facilities where sunlight, legal access, and humane treatment are luxuries rather than guarantees. It is shameful that this kind of institutional abuse continues with taxpayer dollars. I am outraged that even a single cent of my income could be funding atrocities committed in my name. I urge you to immediately support a full and public investigation into the practices at Aligator Alcatraz and similar detention sites. These camps must be shut down. We need justice, transparency, and a return to basic decency in our immigration and detention systems. Anything less is complicity in cruelty. I expect your office to treat this issue with the urgency and gravity it deserves.
