I'm running out of options. My only hope is a longshot. That you have some sense of the future and how you will be perceived. That it matters at all to you.
Our legislators in Iowa have decided they would rather remove protections for an entire class of individuals protected by our laws than be wrong . are legislating against people I know, people I love. That they want to be allowed to hate. That they want others to be allowed to discriminate.
They aren't legislating against some nebulous other. They They are legislating against my son. It breaks my heart that the state with the motto "freedom to flourish" is becoming so unwelcoming. I'm reaching out to you because I hope you care enough to veto the bill that takes away the civil rights of my son. Of my friends, and of others around t he state that may not fit your ideal of what people are. ar that hate is not welcome here.
My son's life could hang in the balance, quite literally.
What this law does is make it easier for people to hate. Plain and simple. Signing this bill makes it clear where you stand. Or veto it and make it cle
