Hakeem Jeffries has said that Democrats won’t be swinging at every pitch but will wait to work against the issues where Trump’s Republicans are providing Democrats an area they can win. I want to assure you that Trump’s hostile government takeover, his usurping Congressional power of the purse, his attack on constitutional rights of birthright citizenship and due process for everyone in our borders, his attacks on the rights of states and municipalities to determine their policies and practices without deference to a king’s preferences, and the bodily autonomy rights of women and trans people are all issues that your constituents expect you to stand for. These authoritarian attacks don’t stop because you fail to address them; they are only emboldened when they are unanswered. You miss every ball you don’t swing at. Fascism advanced everywhere it is not pushed back.
