Allowing the Executive Branch to unilaterally liquidate or renovate these assets—often with opaque, private special-interest funding—sets a dangerous precedent for corruption and the permanent loss of our national heritage. I am asking you to support and co-sponsor: 1. H.R. 6896 (The Federal Facilities Protection and Oversight Act): To require a 72-hour notification and Congressional consent before any major demolition or alteration of federal buildings. 2. The People’s White House Historic Preservation Act: To remove the White House’s exemption from the National Historic Preservation Act, ensuring any changes are subject to a formal public review.
