Reject Vought's Extreme Project 2025 Ties, Unfit for OMB
To: Sen. Butler, Sen. Padilla
From: A constituent in Clovis, CA
November 24
I strongly oppose the appointment of Russell Vought as director of the Office of Management and Budget due to his connections to the controversial Project 2025 agenda. Vought co-authored a chapter referencing OMB in this project, which outlines an extreme conservative governing vision that threatens to undermine core institutions and democratic norms. Project 2025 calls for drastically reshaping and consolidating executive branch powers in concerning ways. It also advocates rolling back reproductive rights by defunding abortion services and limiting access to abortion medication. These proposals are unacceptable attacks on fundamental freedoms. Vought's involvement with this extreme agenda raises serious doubts about his ability to lead OMB in a fair and balanced manner that upholds Constitutional principles and protects all Americans' rights. His alignment with Project 2025's divisive goals makes him unfit for this crucial position overseeing the administration of the entire executive branch. I urge you to reject Vought's nomination based on his ties to this dangerous agenda that threatens democratic institutions and individual liberties. We need OMB leadership committed to serving all citizens equally, not pursuing a fringe ideological project hostile to American values of freedom and pluralism. Vought's past work disqualifies him from this role.
