I am writing to demand Congress take action to stop the illegal closure of USAID and to protect the livelihoods and important humanitarian and diplomatic work of the organization. Elon Musk is a rogue billionaire and the Trump administration is currently enabling an unelected oligarch to seize sensitive data and dictate the budget which is constitutionally Congress’s role. Please take action to save USAID and pay its employees immediately as they have not been compensated for weeks.
