I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the confirmation of Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. His past statements and policy positions raise serious concerns about his ability to fairly and effectively manage the nation’s budget in a way that serves all Americans. Vought has a troubling history of divisive rhetoric and policies that prioritize ideology over sound fiscal management. His previous tenure as OMB’s acting director has demonstrated a willingness to push extreme budget cuts that threaten critical programs like healthcare, education, and social services—programs that millions of Americans rely on, especially during economic uncertainty. A director of OMB should be committed to responsible, nonpartisan budget management that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens, not one who advances narrow partisan interests. For these reasons, I urge you to oppose his confirmation.
