Urgent Concern About Leadership and Risk of War
To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
March 19
I am writing to you as a deeply concerned constituent who is alarmed by the direction our country is heading. It is becoming increasingly difficult to understand why elected officials like yourself are standing by while decisions of enormous consequence are being made under leadership that many Americans believe is not mentally fit for the responsibility.
We are now facing the very real possibility of being drawn into conflict. That is not a minor policy disagreement. That is a matter of life and death for American service members, for civilians, and for the future of our country. It demands clarity, strength, and sound judgment at the highest level. Right now, many of us do not see that.
Why are you allowing this to continue without speaking out? Why are you not demanding accountability, transparency, and assurance that decisions about war are being made with full competence and care?
Your role is not to protect a political figure. Your duty is to protect the American people.
I want to be very clear. Voters are paying attention. Silence and inaction in a moment like this will not be forgotten. If you fail to stand up and address these concerns, you should not expect to earn the trust or the votes of your constituents in the future.
I urge you to take a public stand, ask the hard questions, and put the safety and stability of this country above all else.
